Maybo Insight™ · True Cost of Risk · Step 1
Start with what risk may already be costing

The impact is bigger than the incident itself.

Use sector evidence as a starting point, then replace the assumptions with your own operational and financial data to build a more credible picture of current visible cost.

It is more than what happens in the moment.

Time spent investigating. Shifts to cover. Confidence shaken. A colleague left wondering whether to stay. The impact can ripple far beyond the incident itself.

Choose your sector

Start with an evidence-informed benchmark

Select the setting closest to your organisation. The benchmark data provides context; the editable calculator defaults are illustrative assumptions, not claims about your organisation.

Selected sector

How to use the benchmark and assumed data

  • Benchmark evidence shows the scale or nature of risk in the wider sector. It should not automatically be treated as your incident rate.
  • Calculator defaults are starting assumptions chosen to make the model usable. Replace them wherever your local data is available.
  • Best local sources typically include incident reports, sickness/absence, overtime or agency spend, management investigation time, turnover and recruitment/onboarding costs.
  • Use the result as decision support. It is an illustrative model, not a guarantee of savings or operational outcomes.

Your organisation and current visible cost of risk

Adjust any field below. Results update immediately.

Use the population exposed to the risk if that is more meaningful than total headcount.
Prefer local incident-reporting data. Sector evidence is context, not a substitute for this figure.
Use your own injury or lost-time incident data where possible.
Include only the average absence you can reasonably attribute to an injury event.
Use overtime, bank, agency, supply or other realistic replacement cost.
Include reporting, review, debrief and management time where appropriate.
Use an employment-cost rate if available, not salary alone.
This model treats all turnover cost as visible organisational cost; refine it if you only want risk-attributable turnover.
Include recruitment, onboarding and initial productivity cost where defensible.
